a lockdown diary

Specific categories of people have been particularly affected  by the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown crisis. Entire sectors of our society, such as live music and performing arts, face an unprecedented disruption. For what concerns myself, I have a condition that makes me vulnerable to the disease: I have accepted the idea that I won’t be playing live jazz in small venues until an effective treatment or vaccine is found, which realistically means until late 2021. I have moved from performing music to recording music, since this is the best I can do at the moment. Home recording, to be accurate. This is a collection of the recordings I have made during these very peculiar times and that I have posted on social networks – some on my own, many with friends and colleagues I had the pleasure and the honour to play with.
