Gianni Pantaleo (piano, synth), Giulio Isacco Lampronti (electric bass, effects), Riccardo Cardazzo (drums, effects). The trio’s stylistic approach was characterised by: (i) use of digital and electronic instruments and devices; (ii) moving away from classical jazz repertoire forms, such as 32 bar aaba songs; (iii) wide range of genres and styles from jazz, funk, rock, r’n’b, salsa, samba, electronic music; (iv) use of compositions, quotes, audio events recalling elements and references from the collective national and international consciousness; (v) last but not least, improvisation and interplay. The resulting musical mix was complex but with familiar shades – logic would often give way to association of ideas. In 2008 the trio started a collaboration with Michele Gori (flute). A fantastic jazz musician, Michele enjoyed being challenged by the addition of digital effects to his flute. He later kept experimenting with live electronics to finally develop a sophisticated technique on his digitally effected flute which truly extended his artistic vocabulary into a new landscape. The Stand!Bab Trio + Michele Gori was based in Florence (Italy) and is currently not operative due to logistical problems, like members living in different countries.
